Early 2020 Dan and Bonnie Komo, the original founders of Do Something Right Now approached Sue Riley with the idea of assuming the role of Executive Director for the Non-profit. Upon stepping into this position came a vision and directional change for the origination as a whole. What was original founded as a way to fund other non-profits, quickly shifted into a organization geared toward meeting the needs of others both locally and globally.

Our DSRN Directors Sue and Ginger Riley began serving daily sack lunches and evening hot meals during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic to under resourced school children in the Demerit Drive community that relied on these meals, often as their only source of nutrition for the day. Since 2020 Do Something Right Now has continually developed and grown this model of love and assistance in the community and aboard. Our team has grown from two, into a full leadership team, a board of directors, an accountability board, and 30+ volunteers.

In 2021 we took several significant steps to plunge our roots deeper into our local community by the purchase of a home in Fairway Meadows at the corner of Hogan and Demerit Drives. The home in significant decline required total restoration. While in construction our services to the community continued with volunteers delivering weekly 200 boxes of groceries provided by our new partnership with the Food Bank of Central Missouri.

It was also during 2021 that our global ministry began to take shape as vetted relationships with global Pastors began to form. In 2021 we drilled our first fresh water well in a rural village in Nepal as our first global project.

Since those days of 2021 we have grown into a full food pantry and resource center with weekly programming and a dedicated staff of volunteers. We are currently serving 200+ families with the services we provide on a weekly basis through Hogan House. Globally we have drilled 40+ wells and have funded numerous humanitarian projects in four countries! We are so thankful for the work accomplished but know that our better days are before us. Who We Are

At Do Something Right Now people are our most valued treasure. Rooted in compassion, love, and devotion to God, we believe lasting change happens when we walk alongside others—listening, serving, and meeting both spiritual and physical needs. Our mission extends from local neighborhoods to global communities, providing food, clean water, mentorship, and safe spaces where people can belong and thrive. Through honesty, integrity, and a commitment to discipleship, we partner with families, leaders, and established pastors around the world to bring hope and peace. From rural villages in Nepal to streets in our own hometowns, we seek to care for the widow, the orphan, and the vulnerable, offering friendship, guidance, and the resources needed for life. Simply put, we are devoted to doing something—right now—that reflects God’s love and builds stronger communities for generations to come.
